My advice to prospective students is...

Not everyone has it figured out. I had no idea what I wanted when I was starting my college search, but I trusted my gut and found my perfect match in a school.

I chose Mount Holyoke College because...

The community and the flexible curriculum. I love that my major requirements can be met through classes that truly fit my interests and that I can tailor my curriculum to work within all of my interests. I often take classes from different departments that intersect and land right in my area of interest. Mount Holyoke is also super supportive of different educational backgrounds and coming from a non-traditional schooling background I always felt like my experience was a strength, not a detriment.

My favorite MHC tradition is...

The honor code ceremony. I participate every year (you'll find out how) and I always love it being the first major point of connection between the new class and the upperclassmen, as well as an introduction to one of my favorite college traditions (within the tradition).

My favorite class is...

Earthborn Democracy with Professor Aslam! I took it as a major requirement which examined the relationship between ecology and democracy. It had an incredible class environment, where it felt like a conversation between all of the students and our professor and became a very student-driven environment where we were able to tailor the class to our own interests. I love upper-level seminars like this where the class becomes tailored to the students.
