Pangy Day! Spring is my favorite season and I love the opportunity to celebrate it (and the end of a successful academic year) with all my friends. I'm a very crafty and outdoorsy person, so I enjoy the picnic lunch, games, and art projects on the Green! Plus, there are usually chickens, which makes me feel right at home.
I wanted to go to a small liberal arts college where I could take challenging classes across a wide variety of disciplines. As soon as I started talking to students and alums, I began seeing myself fitting in right alongside them. I was drawn in by the curiosity, kindness, and sureness of self I saw in people here. When I visited, I fell in love with the campus itself, especially the woods, greenhouse, and Equestrian Center, which are still some of my favorite places on campus!
Do it scared! Everything that made me nervous about college is also what made it fun and exciting. The opportunities to meet so many new people, try something new, explore new places, and take challenging classes can be intimidating, but it's also so rewarding! No matter where you take your next steps, know that you will absolutely find your people and learn so much about yourself along the way.
History of Energy! This class truly changed the way I think about energy, labor, history, and research. For me, the subject sat in a fascinating intersection of science and history. I loved exploring how the stories told us about various energy forms as they developed and how it shaped their development. I also enjoyed the discussion-based nature of the class and how students were sometimes given the chance to lead the class!
