Tour Guide at Mount Holyoke College
Class of 2027
Hometown: Miami, FL
Major: Anthropology
Secondary Major: Dance
My favorite class this semester is my Rhythmic Analysis course with Professor Jones. In the course, we are studying music from a dancer's perspective. Professor Jones makes the classroom setting interactive and engaging, it is impossible to leave the room without a smile on my face!
My favorite MHC tradition is the oldest MHC tradition, Mountain Day! Mountain Day occurs on a random day during the start of the fall semester. The clock tower bell rings early in the morning to announce that classes are cancelled for the day. Students come together to climb Mt Holyoke and at the top of the mountain there is ice cream. I hold Mountain Day dear to my heart because my first Mountain Day was my first time ever hiking a mountain.
My advice to prospective students is to embody the fullest version of yourself! Mount Holyoke's admission process is a holistic one. Showcase all your strengths, passions, and quirks.
I chose Mount Holyoke College because I felt wanted and cared for by Mount Holyoke before I ever stepped foot on campus, I knew being here was my fate. I took a gap year after my high school education for an unexpected personal reason. Mount Holyoke understood and met me where I was at, allowing me to take this year off. Undoubtedly, the faculty, staff, and students all together have made Mount Holyoke my home away from home.
