I love Mountain Day. It is a great way for me to engage with my friends and take a moment outside to interact with nature. I also am a big fan of the ice cream we get at the top of the mountain. I love to eat it while sitting and enjoying the view.
I really enjoyed my Shakespeare class that I took in my sophomore year. All of the class discussions were engaging and the professor allowed us to flesh out all of our ideas in both discussion and in writing. I also enjoyed learning more about Shakespeare's history and talking about the ways his writing is still relevant today.
I would tell them that they do not have to have their whole life planned out now. Mount Holyoke encourages students to engage in a variety of academics and extracurricular activities so they can truly find their passions and what they want to continue learning, so they do not need to know prior to attending here.
I appreciated the academics and research opportunities we had, I knew I would be able to pursue topics that interested me and that I would get faculty support to do so. Also, I was eager to be a part of the open and welcoming community. As an admitted student I already felt welcome on campus and I was excited to become a part of that and to get to know more people. Additionally, I was enthused by the opportunity to take a variety of classes even those outside of major. I love to dance and I was so excited to be able to take classes and engage in performances without being a major.
