Mountain Day! I am on the board of the Outing Club at MHC and I love the opportunity to lead a fun hike on a beautiful fall day. The Outing Club leads its own version of Mountain Day by leading a 6 mile hike across the Seven Sisters trail, and we end at the summit of Mt. Holyoke where we join our friends and other faculty and staff for ice cream, temporary tattoos, and gorgeous views. It's a great community bonding experience and I always look forward to the next Mountain Day!
Ask the questions you are afraid to ask, talk to professors and current students, make a pros and cons list, figure out if you can picture yourself attending the college you are visiting, and take a deep breath!
Trade and American Foreign Policy. I took this class in the fall semester and I absolutely loved it because the professor gave engaging lectures and facilitated class debates on foreign policy and trade issues. I came away from the class with a much deeper understanding of how American trade and foreign policy operates in the global context.
Once I visited campus and toured a class, I fell in love with the collaborative and engaging environment. Never before had I felt like the students were dedicated and passionate about their learning, and the professors not only cared about students academically but also personally. I knew it would be a place where I could not only explore my passions but also expand on them and be encouraged to take risks and explore my interests.
