Class of 2028
Hometown: Miami, FL
Major: Computer Science
I wanted a place where I'd feel supported both academically and personally, and where I could breathe. Mount Holyoke stood out not just for its community, but for how peaceful and beautiful the campus is. Being surrounded by nature helps me feel grounded, and it's nice to have quiet spaces to recharge while also being part of such a strong and passionate community.
Don't stress about having everything figured out. Ask real questions, not just the ones you think you're supposed to ask. Focus on how a place feels and whether you can envision yourself being genuinely happy there. College isn't just about academics; it's about finding somewhere that supports you, challenges you, and makes you feel like you belong.
Intro to Computational Problem Solving! It was my first real intro to coding, and even though it was challenging, I liked how satisfying it felt to finally get my code to work. It also showed me how creative computer science can be.
Mountain Day! There's something so wholesome about waking up to the sound of bells and knowing classes are canceled so we can all go hiking and enjoy the day. It's one of those moments where the entire campus feels connected, and it reminds you to slow down and breathe.
